Ravenna is a beautiful city of the Emilia Romagna region of 156,000 inhabitants
capital of the province. The district is very large, is the second largest after
that of Rome but with relatively low population compared to large cities, is one
of the least densely populated Italians, especially because the area also covers
a large area of fields and farmland . Ravenna is one of the most famous
Italian cities in the world for its great wealth of civil and religious
monuments, has eight declared a World Heritage Site under UNESCO protection.
Ravenna is connected to the Adriatic Sea via the channel Candiano, a few miles
away are the famous Lidi di Comacchio: Estensi Lido, Lido degli Scacchi, Lido di
Pomposa to name a few. These beaches are now one of the main attractions of mass
tourism of the Adriatic Riviera, as well as Riccione, Bellaria, Rimini. The
coast offers a great number of hotels, inns and bed & breakfast in each
category, and certainly young people and families here have fun thanks to the
presence of arcades, pubs, bars, discos, cinemas and a large number of sporting
events , cultural and entertainment concentrated course in the summer and
spring.
